Recap: GALILEO FOR MOBILITY at European Space Week

From 3 to 5 December, GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was presented during European Space Week, held in Marseille, France. Organised by the European GNSS Agency, the event gathered all European stakeholders to discover the latest applications in Earth observation and satellite navigation and learn about the latest status of Galileo, Copernicus and EGNOS. GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was presented at two sessions. On 3 December, the session “EGNSS User Consultation Platform” was held, exchanging feedback on user requirements collected by GSA for each market segment. Over the past month, GALILEO FOR MOBILITY and the Galileo technology has found its way to a couple of online publications. The ITS World Congress in Copenhagen has come to an end, and GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was present. On 17 September, G4M held a session where participants discussed various satellite technologies from the GSA and the benefits for the deployment of multimodality, new mobility services and digital platforms. Also reviewed was the advancement made in GALILEO for mobility projects funded by the EC, plus the point of view of the transport authorities, industries and users on the matter. On Monday 17 September (11:00 – 12:30) GALILEO FOR MOBILITY organises a session on Maximising the potential and the market uptake of the EGNSS in mobility at the ITS World Congress in Copenhagen. Customer access to Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offering is likely to happen through a mobile application, which collets mobility needs of the user and offers the different alternatives for traveling. Instant geolocation of user and vehicles available are then necessary to match supply and demand. G4M Consortium Meeting & Advisory Group in Barcelona

From 11 to 13 July, all partners of GALILEO FOR MOBILITY traveled to Spain for the Consortium Meeting and the Advisory Group Meeting in Barcelona. Kicking off on Wednesday the 11th, the consortium meeting started with an update on the project by Coordinator Pildo, after which WP2 and WP3 activities were discussed. The Thursday saw the all-day advisory group meeting, where three topics were discussed. GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was present during TRA (Transport Research Arena) 2018, which took place from 16 to 19 April in Vienna. TRA is the biggest European Research and Technology Conference on transport and mobility. The overarching this seventh edition was "A Digital ERA For Transport - Solutions for Society, Economy and Environment". It was the first time that GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was presented to such a big audience. AMB launching the first Bus On Demand service in Barcelona metropolitan area

GALILEO FOR MOBILITY partner Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) recently launched the first bus on demand service in Barcelona metropolitan region, a service that connects Tiana (Maresme) to Badalona’s Can Ruti hospital. Operating under the technology platform developed by Pildo Labs, it’s the first stage of the GALILEO FOR MOBILITY Public Transport on Demand pilot in Barcelona.
