Recap: GALILEO FOR MOBILITY at European Space Week

From 3 to 5 December, GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was presented during European Space Week, held in Marseille, France. Organised by the European GNSS Agency, the event gathered all European stakeholders to discover the latest applications in Earth observation and satellite navigation and learn about the latest status of Galileo, Copernicus and EGNOS.

GALILEO FOR MOBILITY was presented at two sessions. On 3 December, the session “EGNSS User Consultation Platform” was held, exchanging feedback on user requirements collected by GSA for each market segment. CERTH/HIT attended the working session in the transport sector of roads. On 5 December, Dr. Josep Maria Salanova Grau from CERTH/HIT participated in the “Smart Cities” session, where he spoke about cooperative ITS and advanced location and navigation solutions in mobility services in Thessaloniki, making references to the GALILEO FOR MOBILITY project.

The sessions saw interesting bilateral discussions on how to ensure that EU Space programmes continue to serve as a powerful tool for GALILEO FOR MOBILITY to confront the current economic, social, and environmental challenges, and how they create opportunities for game-changing growth and technological breakthroughs.
