Galileo 4 Mobility launches pilot video!

We are happy to announce that the Galileo 4 Mobility pilot video for Thessaloniki has been launched! With the taxi-sharing pilot currently in full swing, pilot leaders CERTH and TaxiWay have together with the project created a video to promote the service and to explain how satellite technology is applied. On 21 November, Galileo 4 Mobility will organise a session at the Smart City Expo World Congress, held in Barcelona from 19 to 21 November. On 30 October, Galileo 4 Mobility held its third and last Advisory Group meeting in Thessaloniki. Hosted by partner CERTH, the day provided the opportunity for the G4M consortium to gather valuable feedback from AG members on key issues related to the project, discuss the latest developments of the pilot sites, and participate in a dedicated workshop on Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Galileo 4 Mobility invited by Luxembourg Parliament

On 4 October, Galileo 4 Mobility visited the Luxembourg Parliament for the one day conference "Space solutions for sustainability on Earth", organised by the Ministry of Economy-the Luxembourg Space Agency, the University of Luxembourg-Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance (FDEF), the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) with the support of the Chamber of Deputies and the European Commission-JRC. During the conference, Project Coordinator Marti Jofre presented Galileo 4 Mobility as the reference EU project on the use of European GNSS for improving urban transportation. MaaS aggregator pilot completed in Barcelona

The Galileo 4 Mobility project is happy to announce that the MaaS aggregator pilot in Barcelona has been completed. During the pilot, project partner RACC tested how Galileo technology improved the accuracy of the services in its app CityTrips  (previously called RACC Trips). Data analysis is still ongoing but some preliminary results have been already disclosed by Marti Massot, Mobility and ITS Project Manager at RACC. Galileo 4 Mobility at Swiss Mobility Arena

From 16 to 19 September, the Swiss Mobility Arena will take place in Bern, and Galileo 4 Mobility will be present. The project will be presented by PILDO during the session "Integrating Shared Bikes with other Services". Points on the agenda are the project's pilots, Galileo in general, and the common MaaS architecture that was followed for designing the mobility services. Galileo 4 Mobility collaborates with other MaaS projects at UITP Summit

On 11 June, Galileo 4 Mobility co-organised a Stakeholders Workshop on MaaS technologies during the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm. The workshop gathered six EU-funded projects that each focus on MaaS from a different perspective: Shift2MaaS (in collaboration with COHESIVE), IMOVE, My-TRAC and SMARTE), and Galileo 4 Mobility. The workshop welcomed approximately 30 attendees, both project consortium members as well as external stakeholders. Goal of the workshop was to bring together MaaS experts from different industries and viewpoints, in order to establish connections for potential future collaborations. G4M launches call for expressions of interest for Autonomous Vehicle manufacturers

Self-driving, or autonomous, vehicles are currently being tested in different areas and some are currently in use in restricted zones. However, the operation of autonomous vehicles on roads that are open to traffic is still very limited. To address this issue, the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA) and the EU-funded project Galileo4Mobility are launching a joint call for Expressions of Interest aiming to select an autonomous vehicle (POD) to operate a public transportation service within a predefined but open to traffic area. From 9 to 12 June, the UITP Global Public Transport Summit will take place in Stockholm. With new mobility solutions and their integration into the public transport network being an important topic at the event, Galileo 4 Mobility will be present with one poster session and one workshop.
