Karlsruhe played host to the biennial IT Trans conference where Galileo For Mobility was presented to a packed house of transport, tech and industry professionals on March 7. IT Trans gave Marti Jofre, the coordinator of Galileo For Mobility, an excellent opportunity to communicate the objectives of the project to a relevant audience of experts from all sectors and modes of transport. Interoperability was the keyword for this market update session and Jofre paid particular attention to how Galileo can be exploited for new mobility services. Coordinators from four Horizon 2020 projects, including IMOVE, GOF4R and My-TRAC, alongside Galileo4Mobility were [...]
Prague's European GNSS Agency - home to the Galileo satellite - was where Galileo For Mobility officially kicked off on January 23, 2018. The European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GNSS) was the only real contender to host the launch event for a project that will look to launch MaaS into the stratosphere. Chiefly, the satellite will aid the signal strength and precision of tracking tools. This will prove a great benefit to both operators and passengers who have in the past had variable quality of geolocation services. Especially in the urban jungle where coverage can be hit and miss, [...]
